Converge announces nationwide fiber service rollout plan

Converge just announced their nationwide rollout plan to provide fiber services on both households and enterprises.

The company formed a partnership with Korea Telecoms, LSI Fibernet Konstruk Corporation, and TE Connectivity Subcom to help fast-track the completion of the nationwide service rollout. The partners’ main role is to help deploy and build necessary infrastructures to provide fiber internet connectivity.

“We have set our sights to bring the best internet connectivity by starting in Metro Manila and some key provinces in Luzon. By going nationwide, we can do more rollouts and more installations in other islands in the Philippines, helping more people connect with one another through our infrastructure” – Dennis Uy, Converge President & CEO

Miles Tonn Chua, COO of MetroWorks ICT Construction (a subsidiary of Converge ICT), stated that the rollout, currently being executed, has the potential to reach more than 13 million out of 22 million households nationwide with the inclusion of major islands in Visayas and Mindanao. He also said that this project is a 5-year plan which is targetted for completion by 2021. However, it would be operational through different phases for a chance to achieve completion before the said target year.

The partnership is currently ongoing implementation and final negotiation stages. They (partnerships) are scheduled to implement a Full Turn Key (FTK), an end-to-end approach which includes supplying imported materials and providing services up to acceptance, and Semi-Turn Key (STK), Converge Group provides owner-supplied materials, approaches.

well, he’s right naman.. They say its available in Pasig, well I live in Pasig, right beside a major thoroughfare (in fact, just a couple of km from their office). and I’ve asked their office every month since February and they’re still not available for my area. It seems they’re only available at the more opulent neighborhoods like Valle Verde and the like.. that’s despite having big tarp ads on my street ha..
