Dell has continued their development of its modular laptop and PC design named Concept Luna in an effort to reduce waste and foster the recycling of computer components.
First introduced in 2021, Dell has since evolved the Concept Luna to a modular PC and laptop design that eliminates the need for adhesives and cables, while also reducing the number of screws in the machine.
Dell says that Concept Luna can drastically accelerate repair and disassembly processes, making it easier for both users and manufacturers to access and reuse components.
The laptop company also stated that Concept Luna’s design will cut the disassembly time of PCs and laptops from hours to minutes, making the repair and recycling process more user-friendly.
To showcase Concept Luna’s potential, the technology company shared photos of their Concept Luna laptop being disassembled by robotic arms.

Concept Luna is part of Dell’s larger vision of creating a circular economy, which is their answer to the increasing accumulation of electronic waste on the planet.
