Dropbox and Google Cloud initiated a partnership back in March, with the aim of creating a centralized home for work. Today, they just introduced the first product of their partnership — a Dropbox add-on for Gmail.
With the new add-on, you no longer need to download a file from Dropbox and upload it into Gmail. It works differently but hand-in-hand with the already available Dropbox extension for Chrome. The add-on will add the following features:
- Directly send a link to any file or folder in your Dropbox without file size or inbox space limitation. Anyone can access the provided link freely and easily.
- Dropbox can now be accessed directly from Gmail and shared links always update to the latest version of the file, regardless of when the email was sent.
- You can now save files from your email to Dropbox.
The Dropbox add-on is now available on G Suite Marketplace (link here). It also works with the Gmail app on Android and will soon be available on iOS.
