We’ve gotten confirmation that the EDSA Free WiFi Project by the DICT is launching this June 12 to coincide with the celebration of the National Independence Day.
This was confirmed to us by one of the partner telcos that is providing the high-speed broadband connection. We earlier reported that contractors have been laying out fiber cable along EDSA last month (see story here).
According to our source, the WiFi network will be available to the entire 24-kilometer stretch of EDSA. Commuters will be able to login to the network for free for the 1st 30 minutes at a speed of up to 100Mbps.
