Elon Musk, Twitter’s CEO and the owner of SpaceX and Tesla, plans on releasing an artificial intelligence called TruthGPT that’s able to rival ChatGPT.
Musk has criticized Microsoft for making OpenAI “train to lie” and how it is a “closed source”, “for-profit” organisation “closely allied with Microsoft. He also points out that the co-founder of Google, Larry Page, is not taking AI safety seriously.
“I’m going to start something which I call ‘TruthGPT’, or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe,” Musk said to Tucker Carlson in Fox News Channel last Monday.
Musk claims that TruthGPT would be the best path that would not “annihilate humans”.
“It’s simply starting late. But I will try to create a third option,” Musk said.
He has registered X.AI Corp where he is the director while Jared Birchall, Musk’s family office’s managing director, as the secretary.
Musk was a co-founder to OpenAI back in 2015, but stepped down in 2018 so that he could prioritize on SpaceX and Tesla.
