Sustainability in every aspect

At this year’s Fusion 15: The Eco-Connection, Epson, has reiterated the significance of forming an eco-connection, which represents two fundamental key elements to its mission. Firstly, it represents Epson’s steadfast commitment to building a sustainable and greener future. A part of the greener movement is developing environmentally friendly products, adapting improved and sustainable practices on company’s operations, and making impactful connections and initiatives beneficial for the people and the planet. The other key element is the bond between Epson, its partners, and consumers as they work hand-in-hand to foster sustainability and make a change.

To be a sustainable company, Epson’s operations must come first in order to create a sustainable one. Epson incorporates sustainability into all aspects of business operations, including manufacturing waste, emissions reduction, and adherence to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nation (UN). Epson has started and is leading the way with the use of solar power. The first Japanese Manufacturer to transition to 100% renewable energy and this includes the Manufacturing Plant in Batangas which is one of its largest manufacturing facilities in the world.

Its optimism and commitment to a carbon-free company by 2050, Epson has invested in decarbonization, environmental technology development, resource recycling, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in supply chains. The company has partnered with World Wide Fund (WWF) Philippines making sustainable and environmental actions, joint initiatives such as the educational Panda Talk and Mangrove Restoration Project which imparted the importance of a collective environmental responsibility.

Plans and Programs for Sustainability

Epson’s eagerness to expand its partnership with WWF Philippines has planned to supply opportunities, equipment, infrastructure, and most importantly to empower communities such as the A.T.E. Atelier Sewing-Recycling Art Studio in Siargao Island. The company has hinted on the upcoming inkjet printers lineup this May, bringing a revolution in the industry.

She added, “With this line’s high-speed printing and scanning capabilities, compact design, and reduced environmental impact, we believe they will revolutionize the printing industry and provide businesses with reliable and efficient printing solutions.”

And as the media event ended, the President and Director of Epson Philippines, Masako Kusama mentioned “At Epson, we’re not just building products, we’re building a greener tomorrow.
