Facebook Messenger app now supports screen sharing

Facebook Messenger has announced the availability of the screen sharing feature both on the web and its mobile app in iOS and Android.  The initiative aims to bring people closer together during the pandemic.

The feature allows users to share the live view of their mobile phone’s screen one-on-one with loved ones, up to 8 people in a video call, and up to  16 people in Messenger Rooms. Among the things that users can do under the feature are browsing of camera roll, online shopping, mobile web browsing, and scrolling of social media feed.

The company also shares that web and desktop screen sharing is also available in Messenger Rooms. It will soon add some screen sharing options and expands the number of viewers for the feature up to 50 under Messenger Rooms. This means that admins may limit the participants for the screen sharing and adjust its privacy.

Screen sharing is now available globally on the web, iOS, and Android devices.  It’s also present on its desktop app. Make sure to update the app on its latest version to fully enjoy the feature.
