Facebook to invest USD 1 Billion in content creators

Facebook has announced its plan to invest over USD 1 billion in programs that would enable creators to earn money for the content they create on Facebook and Instagram by the end of 2022.

According to Facebook, this investment will include new bonus programs that pay eligible creators for hitting certain milestones when they use the platform’s creative and monetization tools. The platform will also provide seed funding for creators to produce their content.

In addition, Facebook is introducing bonus programs that will reward a wide variety of creators for sharing their own content.

As per Facebook, bonus programs will be seasonal and will evolve and expand over time. However, while some bonus programs are already available to select creators by invitation, such as Badges and Stars Challenges, they will also launch a dedicated area for bonuses within Facebook and Instagram, where creators can learn about bonuses available to them.

Currently, the first bonus opportunities on Facebook, available by invitation now, include the In-Stream bonus and Stars bonus. On the other hand, the first round of bonuses for Instagram users will only be offered by invite. Creators are incentivized to put IGTV Ads in their videos and can also earn bonuses by reaching badge milestones in live videos. What’s more, a bonus for Reels will launch in the summer where creators can earn bonuses for posting Reels.

Thus, Facebook plans to roll out more bonus programs between now and the end of the year.

Those who are interested to sign up to learn more about both our monetization products and bonus programs on Facebook may visit Monetization Tools on Facebook for Creators. Meanwhile, creators on Instagram can check out more in the Bonuses section of the app, which will be available in the coming weeks.
