FLIR, a maker of thermal imaging devices, has announced it’s latest device — an action camera.
The FLIR Duo which has two cameras on it, a 160 x 120 resolution thermal image sensor and a Full HD color camera. Both cameras work together to provide a unique thermal image. They also let you overlay the images from the color camera over the thermal image for better heat mapping. The Duo can record still and images in its onboard microSD card but it also an HDMI video output.
There is also a Duo R model with calibrated radiometric temperature measurements in addition to all the features in Duo.
It’s also designed for drone use just like a GoPro. Imagine having a bird-eye view topped with thermal images. They don’t come cheap though as the FLIR Duo is priced at $999.99 (~Php49,600) while the FLIR Duo R is at $1299.99 (~Php64,400).
