Commuters of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) will get free rides today during the peak hours of New Year’s Day, January 1, 2018. The free rides will be from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the evening shift, according to the statement of Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC).
Passengers can use their beep stored value card to avail of the free ride. They can enter even if current load of the beep card is zero as no purse load amount is required in SVCs during the free ride period. Single journey ticket users or those without beep cards would be issued cards with zero fare amount.
LRT-1 traverses from Baclaran in Parañaque City to Roosevelt in Quezon City.
