Globe has announced its plans of continuing to expand its 5G network across the country.
As of July 2021, Globe says that it has expanded 5G coverage to more than 1,800 key locations all over the country. At least 94% of the NCR now has Globe 5G outdoor coverage while Visayas and Mindanao have 85% and 77%, respectively.
In the NCR, Makati and Pateros lead the way with 100% 5G coverage, Marikina is in second at 99%, followed by Taguig, Mandaluyong and Caloocan which are at 98% 5G coverage. Finally, San Juan is at 97%.
5G is now available in 85% of Cebu City, 77% of Boracay and 75% of Bacolod City. While in Mindanao, 77% of Davao City and 80% of Cagayan De Oro City are covered by 5G. More towers are being built in seven new 5G towers in General Santos City and installation of four more in Zamboanga City.
Globe is encouraging customers to upgrade to 5G ready sim cards as well as 5G-enabled smartphones and devices to enable customers experience the benefits of the technology.
