Globe eSIM QR code is for single-use on one device

Globe eSIM QR codes can only be scanned/activated once, with the eSIM for single use on one device only.

To elaborate, this means that Globe eSIM users are unable to move their eSIM into another device for now.

Users need to make sure that whenever they activate a Globe eSIM, they do so on a device that they’re sure they’ll use it on.

Globe notes that users removing the eSIM from their phones denies them the ability to install it again. The telecom giant also advises their users to wait for some updates regarding the local eSIM.

For any questions concerning Globe’s eSIM, feel free to visit their site 846 for FAQs.

Meanwhile, Smart Prepaid users can rescan their eSiM QR codes using another device with eSIM capabilities.

However, users must delete their existing eSIM profile on their old device first. For any further inquiries on Smart’s eSIM, you may click here 483.

This raises eyebrows on why Globe’s eSIM activation methods feel inflexible. However, the company’s surely working on fixes for those who have lost, damaged, or feel the need to replace their current devices.

  1. I think this article is misleading, you are comparing Globe Postpaid eSim vs Smart Prepaid eSim. Smart Postpaid eSim has the same approach as Globe Postpaid eSim, can only be used on registered Phone. This is because both companies tied up eSim profile to IMEI of Postpaid Phones.
Also it is not One Time Use, it can be re-scanned on SAME DEVICE if you need to reformat the phone whatsoever.

    • No it’s the newly released Globe prepaid eSIM, with Smart prepaid eSIM you can transfer it to other device if you want to transfer but be sure to delete the eSIM first on the old device before you can transfer the Smart eSIM by just scanning the QR given by the telco. In contrary Globe’s new released prepaid eSIM doesn’t offer that flexibility, Globe prepaid eSIM upon activation is just tied to one device. If incase you broke youre device then bye2x eSIM, hopefully globe will address this.

  2. Globe PREpaid eSIM is now available even their POSTpaid eSim is very very unreliable.
Their current prepaid implementation, specifically their inability to reinstall to it to another phone is a big RED flag of their poor eSIM system. Di ba dapat last October pa to? LOLs

  3. Doesn’t this go against the Mobile Number Portability Law?

  4. It seems you might have missed the latest scoop, EJ. Globe has just unveiled its Prepaid eSIM feature through the GlobeOne app. Naturally, this article dives into a comparison between Globe’s offering and Smart’s Prepaid eSIM. Oh, and a quick correction: with Smart Postpaid, the eSIM is also transferable. Just make sure to remove it from the old device, and it won’t be bound to the IMEI anymore.

  5. Very bad bad and bad experience on purchasing and installing 2 prepaid esims from globe!!!

I cant finish my registration!!! What is this a HOAX???!!! NO OTPs ARE RECEIVED though I have a 5G signal from globe. What a!!!

SMART esims are straighforward. No hassle at all.
