Globe and TM users may now access the Department of Education’s online learning platform DepEd Commons free of data charges.
DepEd Commons is open to teachers and students, containing online review materials and Open Educational Resources (OER) by public school teachers. Teachers may use the educational resources provided, redistribute it to their students to deliver a distance learning modality.
By providing students and teachers free access to DepEd Commons, Globe is encouraging both to continue learning without worrying about data charges, especially during the ECQ.
Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability Officer and SBP for Corporate Communications, stated, “Under this situation where teachers and students have to stay at home like many of us, it is important for learning to continue. Globe supports the education sector by providing access to this alternative learning platform free of charge.”
DepEd Commons also integrates Globe’s eLibrary, Globe’s platform that contains free to use ebooks for children and young adults. Additionally, the Globe eLibrary also contains eLearning videos that introduce concepts in English, Math, and Science.
Globe is reminding its users that while access to the DepEd Commons domain is free, links that direct outside of the platform will still incur data charges.
GOOD IDEA AND THANKS
