Globe Telecom has announced that it is on track at deploying 2 million home broadband with at least 10Mbps speed by 2020.
The telco has also announced that they have deployed 260,000 home broadband lines to date. It is also accelerating its deployment of 400,000 home broadband lines by end of 2017. That said, Globe believes they are going to hit its target of 2 million home broadband with at least 10Mbps speed by 2020.
“We are catching up on the deployment of infrastructure for home broadband, after focusing on mobile for many years. Globe is accelerating home broadband deployment and plans to roll out 400,000 ultra-fast broadband lines by end 2017. Progressive rollouts will be done within the next 3 years until 2020 to serve at least 2 million homes.” said Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu.
Cu also mentioned that Globe could have rolled out more lines this year had it not been for the permitting and right of way challenges that telcos are always facing at the local government level.
“With our recent campaigns, our local government are beginning to hear us, and to some extent, some are more responsive than others. As we move forward, we have every reason to be optimistic that we can improve the quality of home broadband in as many areas as possible,” he said.

it will only be 1,999,999 since i will end my globe LTE subscription once my 24 months contract is done. i am on my fourth month of subscription: 1299php/month + 300php/month cash out (3 months already paid) for wireless landline device ( globe did not yet deliver to this day).
i am 85% happy with the download speed
i am extremely dissatisfied with the 50GB monthly quota.
