Globe warns the public of a modus where Globe at Home modems are illegally sold as DITO modems by certain individuals and online stores.
According to Globe, certain individuals and retail establishments are illegally reselling and passing off their Globe At Home WiFi modems as DITO Telecommunity modems. This is done through the unauthorized unlocking of the Globe device, substituting the Globe SIM with a DITO Telecommunity SIM, and concealing the Globe At Home trademark with a DITO sticker. As of writing, DITO is not offering a home prepaid WiFi kit.
UPDATE: DITO clarified that there are no official DITO modems or pocket WiFi devices at this time. Read the statement here.
According to Globe, the company is prepared to take the necessary legal action against these individuals and establishments carrying out such practices with the assistance of law enforcement authorities.
If anyone has bought, experienced, or has been made aware of this illegal activity, report this matter to the Department of Trade and Industry–Consumer Protection Group at [email protected] or text 09178343330. Other mediums include Globe At Home’s official FB messenger.
Moreover, Globe is reminding the public to buy only from legitimate Globe At Home stores, authorized dealers, and official Lazada and Shopee Globe flagship stores.
