Looks like GMA will also offer their own digital TV receiver in the form of the GMA AFFORDABOX.
The GMA Affordabox is similar to ABS-CBN’s TVplus, meaning it is capable of receiving digital signals and has to be connected to your existing TV so you can browse the channels. GMA programs, of course, are highlighted.
Aside from being a DTV receiver, the GMA Affordabox also works as a multimedia player, personal video recorder, and supports the nationwide emergency warning broadcast system with functional auto-on alert feature.
The price is yet to be revealed but we expect it to be under PHP 1,000USD 17INR 1,445EUR 16CNY 124 and doesn’t include monthly fees.
Will GMA also release DTV dongle similar to the ABS-CBN TVplus Go? We’ll find out soon.
