Mid-February, Google unveiled the initial developer preview for Android 13. Now, they’ve released the Developer Preview 2 of the Android 13 adhering to the timeline they showed. Android users should get the final release by mid of the third quarter.
Other features include Bluetooth LE Audio which is the next-gen wireless audio built to replace classic Bluetooth and activate new use case and connection topologies. This allows users to share and broadcast audio to friends and family, or subscribe to public broadcasts for info, entertainment, or simply accessibility. This new access has been created to ensure high-fidelity audio without draining the battery life too much.
On another note, MIDI 2.0 support has also been added to Android 13 which includes the ability to connect MIDI 2.0 hardware through USB.
Further information will be available as Google runs through their timeline of releases and expectations are that we’ll be seeing Beta releases throughout the second quarter.
