Google rolls out Star Wars “The Mandalorian” AR Experience on the Play Store for 5G Google Pixels and other select 5G Android phones.
It brings the iconic moments from the first season of “The Mandalorian” into an AR Experience. The company has been bringing objects and creatures to life with the augmented reality. In this, users can experience being a bounty hunter following the trail of Mando, Din Djarin, and the Child. This also lets them explore the world of “The Mandalorian,” interact with characters in augmented reality and catch their very own scenes to be shared with friends.
This AR Experience is made possible with the collaboration of Google, Disney, and Lucasfilm. These companies have worked together to create a next-generation augmented reality app optimized ideally for 5G devices. They also intend to build hyper-detailed models and life-like animations while packing scenes with surprises.
Google uses ARCore, which is its developer platform for building augmented reality experiences. This is to create scenes that allow users to interact with the environment, respond to their surroundings, and discover and unlock more effects based on the actions. Moreover, with the new ARCore Depth API, the company has also enabled occlusion, allowing 3D scenes to make it appear natural and close to reality.
The app works on the following 5G Android phones, with support for additional 5G Android phones coming soon.
