Google is set to open its first operations center in the Philippines soon, according to reports.
A Google spokesperson stated that Google has traditionally used third-party suppliers and relied on the operations team to provide customer support for the consumers.
“This worked well when we were smaller [but] like other companies, we now see the need to build out our customer support center,” Google Spokesperson told BusinessWorld.
The Google operations center is set to open on or before Q2 of 2019. The company also said that they will employ a core team of “about 40 people” while they will increase the hiring by hundreds and thousands as they build it out.
The job mainly entails providing support from troubleshooting issues to advertiser assistants for Google’s products including YouTube ads, Google Pay, Google Wallet, Google Hardware, and Google Maps.
