Grok AI is now free to access for all X users

Grok AI is now free to use for all users on X (fka Twitter). Users may see a notification on the platform, informing them of upgrades including a new image generation model.

Grok was initially made available in February this year. In August, it was reintroduced with upgrades as Grok 2 and Grok 2 mini. Now, Grok 2 is three times faster and offers improved accuracy, multilingual capabilities, and the capacity to follow instructions.

xAI, the company behind the model, states that new features were added as well. This includes web search, citations, and their new image generation model called Aurora. The new integration promises a new level of photorealism to what Grok already offers.

Grok 2 is now featured with X, meaning it can use insights on the platform with real-time searches. This helps provide timely and accurate answers for inquiries. In other words, it uses insights from posts on X aside from what the internet offers as is.

Leveraging the platform should allow for more current and contextually relevant responses. The company’s new citation feature also helps users explore sources and verify information easier.

Lastly, X introduced the Grok button. It will appear on posts across your timeline, designed to help users understand context behind stories to follow trending discussions.

Grok AI was previously available to X Premium and Premium+ subscribers only. Now, it’s free with limitations like ten (10) messages or prompts every two (2) hours. For image generation, users may only have Grok go through three (3) images a day.

Communication graduate, closet cynic, and kid at heart. Duane is a rare person to find, quite literally. He often takes to himself but has proven his mettle in tech media with his quick wits. Well, the portfolio of scriptwriting, web content, and public relations help too, we suppose. As a homebody, he often spends his time on the streaming platform Twitch or ‘farming’ gaming clips with friends. He is also an avid fan of round glasses and anything relative to blueberries.
