The HONOR Magic V3 and HONOR Magic Vs3 have been formally launched today in China. Both devices have gotten significant upgrades in comparison to their predecessors.
First up, we have the HONOR Magic V3. As the higher rated unit between the pair, it has flagship-level features. Notably, it undercuts the freshly-released Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 by a huge margin.
While its predecessor was deemed the world’s slimmest foldable at the time, the Magic V3 is somehow lighter and thinner. It measures 9.2mm when folded and 4.35mm when unfolded.
HONOR claims that the device hinge is their thinnest to date, measuring at 2.84mm. It’s rated for a 500,000 fold cycle. It also has an IPX8 rating, making it water resistant up to 2.5 meters.
Moving on to display, it has a 6.43-inch curved main display and a 7.92-inch FHD+ LTPO internal display. Both screens have a refresh rate of 120Hz and has Dolby Vision support.
Powering the Magic V3 is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.
For optics, the phone features an octagonal enclosure housing a triple-camera setup. Users will get a 50-megapixel main shooter, a 40-megapixel ultrawide, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.
The phone is also equipped with a 20-megapixel sensor situated inside the internal and external screens for selfies and the like. The brand also noted that the device will feature Harcourt portrait modes with rollout beginning in August.
The Magic V3 will carry a 5,150mAh battery with 66W of wired fast charging and 50W of wireless charging support. It will run on MagicOS 8.0 with AI features like smart private call, HONOR Parallel Space, etc. Other features include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner (doubled as its power button), two-way satellite communication, and an RF enhancement chip.
Price starts at CNY 8,999 (~PHP 72K) for its storage configuration with 12GB+256GB. There’s also 16GB+512GB (CNY 9,999 / ~PHP 80K) and 16GB+1TB (CNY 10,999 / ~PHP 88K) variants available.
Although not confirmed yet, the HONOR Magic V3 is expected to arrive in international markets like the HONOR Magic V2.
