HTC One lands in India for about Php29,990

If there’s any country closer to the Philippines when it comes to local pricing of handsets, it would be India. So if HTC launches the HTC One there with a retail price with roughly the equivalent of Php29,990USD 511INR 43,324EUR 487CNY 3,722, we might also see the same when the smartphone finally lands in the Philippines this May.

The HTC One is probably the most under-rated smartphone that was announced this first quarter and the only problem it is facing right now is the shortage of Snapdragon 600 chips that it will be using. Despite the delay, folks are eagerly waiting for this handset (and so are we).

We’ve been told that demo unit is already available with the Philippine distributor (and we were offered to visit their office to get a better look a few weeks back) and we’ve actually had a short time with a couple of units several weeks ago as well. And if our prediction is any accurate, the HTC One will be priced really competitively at Php29,990USD 511INR 43,324EUR 487CNY 3,722 {via}.

  1. first !!! bawahahaha ako una

    • Are you still in grade school?

  2. I find it hard to believe that smartphones nowadays uses 1.5ghz quadcore processors but the y could not run full featured windows apps or at least equivalent. for exammple, there should be at least full featured word document editing software, or is there any?

    • Well, just to let you know, smartphone processors are totally different from desktop/laptop processors and that’s why smartphones cannot run a full-fledged operating system like Windows. Smartphone processors have different architecture compared to desktop/laptop processors. And if you were to compare a 1.5 Ghz quad-core smartphone processor to a 1.5 Ghz quad-core desktop processor, the desktop processor is faster compared to the smartphone one because of the architecture. ARM architecture and X86/X64 architecture are two different things. Try slapping a desktop/laptop processor in a size and specs of a smartphone and you’ll experience short battery life. Just do the rest of the research to see why smartphone processors are different from desktop/laptop processors.

A smartphone running a quad-core processor won’t even beat a top-of-the-line single core desktop processor out there due to the architectural differences.

    • there are apps for word editing.

    • Like what geek said, there are a lot of differences whet it comes to architecture and how they handle instructions. Remember that Hertz is a measure of cycle speed. It does not really mean they are on the same processing capability. If you are more desktop savvy, its like comparing an old 3ghz Pentium 4 versus a 3ghz Core i3. They have the same clock speed but performs differently.

  3. I find it hard to believe that smartphones nowadays uses 1.5ghz quadcore processors but the y could not run full featured windows apps or at least equivalent. for exammple, there should be at least full featured word document editing software, or is there any? or at least will be able to run wamp for web developers

  4. nasasayangan talaga ako sa underused capability ng smatphones, on the hardware side sana, atleast man lang madali iconnect several devices at once para sa keyboard, mouse, screen, and should be able to run windows 7 na rin sana

    • Then get a tablet/phablet or a notebook/netbook.

    • I am using my Note 2 that way. I connect my USB keyboard and mouse with ease using a P30 USB OTG cable and a P100 USB Hub. Since my fone has a big screen, it is enough to navigate websites and even play games. Unfortunately, you can’t install a windows7 on it. Just read what sir Geek posted and you’ll understand why. ;)

  5. how about the CHINA 802w model? any news if we can get our hands on that one
