Launched alongside two new laptops and a smartwatch is the HUAWEI FreeBuds 6i, the company’s latest affordable TWS earphones.
While this new pair maintains the design from its previous iterations, Huawei has packed some significant upgrades under the hood.
The biggest change is in noise cancellation. The FreeBuds 6i boast Intelligent Dynamic ANC 3.0, which uses fancy algorithms to constantly monitor ambient noise and adjust cancellation levels in real-time.
This tech is backed by a new noise-filtering chamber that specifically targets mid and high-frequency sounds.
Audio gets a boost too. Huawei kept the 11mm quad-magnet drivers, but they’ve been amped up to be 50% more powerful and are now Hi-Res certified.
Battery life sees a bump as well, thanks to a larger 510mAh charging case (a 25% increase over the FreeBuds 5i). This translates to an extra two hours of playback, with estimates reaching 8 hours with ANC off and 5 hours with it on.
The catch: charging times have also increased slightly, with the case needing 110 minutes for a full top-up and the buds themselves taking an hour.
The FreeBuds 6i is sweat and splash-proof thanks to its IP54 rating and connects to your device of choice via Bluetooth 5.3.
Huawei provides an AI Life app too for additional features like gesture control and tweaking the noise cancellation settings.
Color options are fairly standard with White, Purple, and Black available.
The only missing piece of the puzzle is pricing and availability, which Huawei is keeping under wraps for now. But we can expect it to be close to PHP 3,599 which was the retail price of FreeBuds 5i.
Meanwhile, those interested may check out the FreeBuds 6i’s full specs here 56.
