It was previously reported that Huawei is planning on releasing a GPU Turbo software update to a majority of its handsets. This time around, we got wind of the official roll-out schedule.
Huawei claims that the GPU Turbo update will increase the handsets GPU power up to a maximum of 60% while reducing overall device power consumption by up to 30%.

The update will arrive on both Huawei and Honor devices. It will start rolling out this August for the P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate RS and Honor 10 with other devices following suit afterward. Huawei has also released a few benchmarks and performance ratios for the supposed added boost of the GPU Turbo.
Once Turbo is activated the Mate 10 reached almost constant 60fps on games like King of Glory (a.k.a Arena of Valor), CrossFire and Knives Out. Toppling the iPhone X’ average fps by as much as 8 frames across the three games.
Apart from that, Huawei also released the amount of jitter or stutter lags the Mate 10 experiences once Turbo is activated. The device experienced almost 0 to just 1% of stutters throughout extensive gameplay. This is about 1 to 2% better compared to the iPhone X’s performance.
Of course, most of these are internal benchmarks by the brand itself. We’ll know real-world effects and performance once we experience the update itself.
