Huawei made a surprise launch for the HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro and its base variant in China.
A striking feature of the device is the three punch holes at the top of its display. It consists of a selfie camera and a 3D depth sensor for face unlock biometrics.
While Huawei could have followed Apple’s lead with the Dynamic Island design, they opted for a more unique approach.
Looking like an ellipsis, it certainly stands out in a weird way.
Another notable feature is the addition of satellite connectivity. However, this feature is currently limited to China Telecom.
The new model boasts a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED screen with up to 120Hz adaptive refresh. It is sandwiched with a second-generation Kunlun glass for added protection.
Flipping onto its back shell, Huawei applies its ring design on the camera module—with XMAGE tuning.
They also applied a two-tone finish. In total, it has four colorways, the Green and Silver has their top parts made of glass. While the Black and Purple has faux leather material.
The company has not officially disclosed the chipset used in the HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro, a reliable leaker claims that the device uses an in-house Kirin chipset. An octa-core CPU consisting of four Cortex-A78, four Cortex-A510 and an in-house “Maleoon 910” GPU.
