Huawei has announced that China’s automotive company SERES launched an extended range electric vehicle-the new SERES SF5, and it will be available in Huawei flagship stores in China.
“This exciting announcement sets a precedent for both the consumer electronics industry and the new energy vehicle industry,” said Richard Yu, Executive Director, CEO of the Consumer Business Group, Huawei. “In the future, we will not only provide leading smart car solutions to help partners build better intelligent vehicles, but also help them sell those vehicles through our retail network across China,” he added.
Huawei and SERES have created a new electric drive range extension system in response to consumers’ range and recharging concerns about an electric vehicle. As per Huawei, geared with HUAWEI DriveONE Three-in-One Electric Drive, the system is not only the optimal solution for reducing range anxiety but also delivering world-class coupe performance.
The new SERES SF5 comes with a range of 150 km in pure electric mode and a range of over 1,000 km in extended-range mode. The high-performance capabilities boast 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.68s. The vehicle performance is also aided by the lightweight aluminum chassis, the four-ball joint double-wishbone front suspension, and the trapezoidal multi-link rear suspension.
Moreover, the company mentioned that Huawei HiCar solutions enable users to seamlessly switch between their mobile phone applications to the vehicle’s central control panel, enabling access to navigation, music, and more. Huawei HiCar can also connect the car to other smart devices, letting users in the car turn on air condition, smart screens, and other connected devices at home.
The vehicle’s three-dimensional surround audio system consists of 11 sound units, tuned by HUAWEI SOUND core technicians and acoustic experts.
With the vehicle’s perfect NVH solution- a library-level silence of 38 dB, the audio system delivers authentic and immersive opera-like sound quality.
The new SERES SF5 has a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) rescue recharge mode, which can provide emergency power to isolated vehicles in the wilderness. It also provides vehicle-to-load (V2L) camping power supply mode, empowering induction cookers, stereos, and other equipment.
It also meets safety design standards, with a body made of robust and 1500Mpa thermoformed steel. However, it also comes with L2+ level automatic assisted driving, traffic congestion assistance, full speed domain adaptive cruise control, and other features.
The front row is equipped with sporty and sophisticated seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions and the intimate smart welcome mode.
The new model will be available in Huawei Stores starting April 21 in China at CNY 246,800PHP 1,989,430USD 33,910INR 2,873,443EUR 32,281 (4WD) and CNY 216,800PHP 1,747,603USD 29,788INR 2,524,159EUR 28,357 (2WD). The new SERES SF5 comes in four color options – Deep Ocean Blue, Charcoal Black, Pearl White, and Titanium Silver Grey – along with Midnight Black, Garnet Red, and Ivory White interior trim.
