In its latest announcement, Huawei says that over 10,000 apps and meta-services have now been developed on its HarmonyOS NEXT.
This is quite an impressive feat since earlier this year, when only 200 native apps were being developed at the time.

The Chinese giant claims this wide range of apps will meet “99.9% of its consumers’ usage time” needs.
Huawei also said that they invest about CNY 6 billion (~USD 849 million) every year and have accumulated 6.75 million developers to commit to its platform. This includes the adoption of over 470 SDKs contributing to HarmonyOS NEXT’s rapid growth.
Previously, Huawei dropped support for sideloading Android apps 10 to its platform. The impact this might cause has yet to be seen, but it is likely that all these efforts are merely to satisfy its local consumer base in China. After all, dropping support to sideload Android apps is only implemented in China.
Huawei will fully unveil HarmonyOS NEXT in the coming days. Stay tuned!
