A report made by the International Data Corporation (IDC) states that the Philippine market for tablets has declined by 26.6% yearly.
“It has been two years since quarterly tablet shipments have dropped below two hundred thousand units, a pattern concurrent to the Philippines smartphone market which hit a 3-year low in the same quarter,” as stated by Angela Medez, Client Devices Senior Market Analyst at IDC Philippines.
According to the chart, it shows that Samsung is the top in the Philippine tablet market with Lenovo being a close second to them.
Due to the suspension of DepEd Division and Local Government Unit (LGU) procurements, IDC estimates that annual tablet shipments would fall to pre-pandemic levels below 1 million devices starting in 2023.
