Itel known for its entry-level devices, has silently just launched a new device called the P55T. It is the world’s first device that runs on Android 14 Go Edition – a lightweight version of Android tailored for devices with less than 2GB of RAM.
It has a large 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate very rare for an entry-level device. Powering it is a Unisoc T606 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. It also has a dual rear camera with a 50MP main sensor and AI lens, along with an 8MP front selfie camera. It also has a sizable 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
Features also a side-mounted fingerprint reader, 3.5mm audio jack and USB-C port. The phone also supports dual SIM, 4G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth and basic location services. Color options are Gold, Blue and Black.
Priced at ₹8,199 (PHP 4,500 approx.) for the lone 4GB/128GB model, the Itel P55T seems reasonably priced for its hardware. It will compete with similar budget Android Go phones from rivals. The phone can be purchased from major Indian online retailers Amazon and Flipkart. No words yet if Itel will bring this in the Philippines.
