LBC TXT Remit now available in Luzon

LBC TXT Remit, one of LBC Express, Inc.’s newest service that allows you to send and receive money through SMS, is finally available in greater Metro Manila and Luzon.

I was in a nearby LBC branch here in Bacoor when I noticed the new TXT Remit poster on their wall. I inquired about the service and was told that it first launched in Cebu back in April but was only made available here in Luzon just this month.

The service is pretty simple. The sender first needs to buy a prepaid card which comes in three denominations: Php1,500, Php1,000, and Php500. Upon purchase, the sender needs to scratch the back of the card to reveal the PIN which the he/she can send via SMS using the syntax LBCTRIPP/ to 2910.

The service will then promptly reply with a tracking number and PIN which the sender can forward to recipients so they can receive confirmation of the remitted amount.

In order to encash the remittance, the recipient must provide a valid ID and fill up an LBC encashment form along with the tracking number and PIN.

This service is faster and more convenient especially for those who are just sending small amounts as it doesn’t require the sender to bring an ID and fill up forms. We’re yet to try this service ourselves but if you’ve already done this please share your experience by writing it down the comments field below.
