Lenovo announces ThinkStation P620, a Ryzen Threadripper PRO-based workstation

Lenovo is launching its upcoming workstation desktops, equipped with AMD’s new Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors.

The Lenovo ThinkStation P620 workstation can be equipped with up to 64 CPU cores, running at up to 4.0GHz. The BXB-B chipset comes with up to 128 lanes of PICe 4.0 bandwidth and power up to two NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000 or four NVIDIA RTX 4000 graphics cards. There are eight RAM slots with 8-channel memory support, capable of handling up to 512GB of 3200MHz RAM. As for storage, the system has six drive slots in total, capable of supporting up to 20TB of storage.

Aside from the internal specifications, the ThinkStation P620 is also capable of multiple IO devices and expansion slots, with a total of six USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two USB 2.0 Type-A, two PS/2 ports, four PCIe 4.0 x16 Gen 4 slots, and two PCIe 4.0 x8 Gen 4 slots.

The ThinkStation comes with several enterprise-grade software preinstalled, including ThinkStation Diagnostics 2.0, ThinkShield support, and a three-year warranty. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO desktop processors, on the other hand, comes with AMD Secure Processor and AMD Memory Guard for added security. It also received several ISV Certifications, ensuring applications run reliably on the hardware. These include:

Additionally, Lenovo is also offering several Options and Accessories for their upcoming workstation, such as the ThinkVision P24q-20 monitor, NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 graphics card, and 4TB Enterprise HDD.
