LG has just unveiled its new 2022 lineup of TONE Free true wireless earbuds that include the LG TONE Free and the LG TONE Free fit.

The flagship LG TONE Free earbuds (model T90) feature a new internal structure with larger drivers that help to generate deeper bass. LG describes them to provide “the ultimate sound experience with advanced audio technologies, a better-fitting design, and a host of useful, new features”.
On top of having Dolby Atmos, the flagship T90 are the first wireless earbuds to support Dolby Head Tracking across all content and devices. This recalibrates sound when moving one’s head for a more natural sound experience.
They are also the first wireless earbuds to feature an audio virtualizer designed by Dolby specifically for earbuds that helps in expanding “spatial dimensionality” for stereo entertainment.
Other features of the T90 include Snapdragon’s Sound Technology Suite, LG’s Plug & Wireless feature, and Active Noise Cancellation with Double Step ANC Algorithm and Real-Time ANC Optimizer. They also promise up to 9 hours of battery life and 20 hours with the charging case.
The T60 TONE Free is mostly similar to the flagship T90 but with the exclusion of Dolby Head Tracking, a Voice Pickup Unit, LG’s Plug & Wireless feature, the Real-Time ANC Optimizer, and wireless charging.
On the other hand, LG’s TONE Free Fit (models TF7 & TF8) are designed for active lifestyles and for vigorous training sessions. They feature its SwivelGrip technology that helps keep the earbuds in place comfortably and firmly.
They also feature an IP67 water resistance rating, Active Noise Cancellation, and Meridian HSP technology. LG also claims that the TONE Free fit models will have a battery life of 10 hours and up to 30 hours with the charging case.
The only real significant difference of the TF7 from the TF8 is LG’s Plug & Wireless feature that enables the charging case to double as a Bluetooth transmitter using the included USB-C to AUX Cable. This makes anything like radios, treadmills, or most especially in-flight entertainment easier to use wirelessly.
Both LG’s TONE Free and Free fit earbuds feature LG’s UVnano charging case that helps keep the earbuds clean using ultraviolet light, hypoallergenic ear gels, and Meridian Headphone Spatial Procession technology.
