Logitech and Milieu Insight have released a study on the increasing demand for content creation technology in Southeast Asia. According to the study, 1 in 2 Singaporeans are interested in purchasing audio and video content creation technology. The study also shows that the Philippines has the largest number of creators, while Malaysia has the highest ownership of content creation technology.
The study found that more than 8 in 10 respondents in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines usually watch videos and livestreams, with social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook being the preferred sources of information for researching audio and video technology. The study also revealed that 13% of those surveyed were audio or video content creators, with Malaysia having the largest market share of creators at 17%.
Umehara Keiji, a content creator in Singapore, said that the increase in the number of creators breaking into the streaming market is heartening to see. He suggested that creators can take their content to the next level by investing in streaming equipment based on their budget and goals.
Bernard Chow, Logitech’s Head of Cluster for Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, believes that as the digital creative economy continues to boom, demand for audio and video technology will continue to trend upwards, ushering in an exciting period for independent content creators. Chow added that Logitech aims to continuously innovate to empower both beginner and advanced creators to pursue their passions.
According to Stephen Tracy, Chief Operating Officer of Milieu Insight, the findings of the latest study highlight just how advanced creators across Southeast Asia have become. However, the data also highlights how much growth potential lies ahead. With 65% of the consumers surveyed saying they were either somewhat or very likely to purchase video/audio products going forward, the future of content creation looks bright for Southeast Asia.
With increased access to advanced technological tools, budding creators can easily produce professional quality content, which has contributed to the rising demand for content creation technology in Southeast Asia. The trend is set to continue, and Logitech and Milieu Insight are committed to empowering content creators by providing innovative technology solutions that meet their needs.
