Makati subway system breaks ground

A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Old City Hall to mark the beginning of the construction of the PHP 200 billion-worth Makati subway system.

In a report by GMA News Online, the Makati subway system spans 10 kilometers and will have 10 underground stations from EDSA-Ayala to Ospital ng Makati:

  • EDSA-Ayala Avenue
  • Ayala Triangle Gardens
  • Makati Central Park
  • Police Stations
  • Circuit Makati
  • Makati City Hall
  • Poblacion Heritage District & Rockwell
  • EDSA-Guadalupe
  • University of Makati
  • Ospital ng Makati

The subway system is also planned to be integrated to MRT 3, Pasig River Ferry System, and the Metro Manila subway. Expected completion of the project is in 2025.
