MediaTek’s latest 4G SoC, the Helio P95, is now official, with better AI, connectivity, and AI-camera processing.
The Helio P95 features MediaTek’s AI Processing Unit (APU) 2.0, which they claim is 10% better compared to the previous generation. The rest of the chipset is comprised of two Arm Cortex-A75 cores running at 2.2GHz, six Arm Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0GHz, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. The IMG PowerVR GM 9446 GPU can handle resolutions of up to 2520 x 1080.
As for cameras, the Helio P95 can handle a single 64MP sensor or 24 + 16MP dual cameras. Paired with the APU 2.0, the cameras are capable of fast facial recognition, AI noise-reduction (AI-NR), and precise edge detection. It also boosts performance in apps that use semantic segmentation, 3D pose recognition, and more.
In terms of connectivity, the Helio P95 is capable of providing both SIMs with Dual 4G VoLTE. The upgraded modem features 4×4 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, and WiFi 5.
Like the Helio G-series, the Helio P95 also comes with MediaTek’s HyperEngine, which has features such as:
- Intelligent prediction of WiFi & LTE concurrency triggers in just 13 milliseconds
- Lower latency action-to-display
- 60% shorter GPU rendering-to-display latency
- Dynamic CPU, GPU, and memory management
- A faster response between smartphone and cell-tower
