The smartwatch dubbed as ‘Milan’ was under development for over two (2) years. It houses the usual features common in a smartwatch such as activity tracking, music playback, and messaging. What differentiates it from others is the inclusion of dual cameras, to be specific one (1) at the front, below the display, and one (1) at its rear which is against the user’s wrist. This can be by the image provided in this article based on the report of Bloomberg.

The possible reason for the cancellation is the second camera which is located at the backside of the smartwatch. This camera is located there so users can use it to take a quick snap by just removing the watch face from the strap. This setup caused issues with a feature called electromyography. This feature is a top priority for Meta for it translates nerve signals from the wrist towards the digital commands and another benefit of it is that through the feature ‘ electromyography ’ it uses the user’s hand to serve as the controller for other devices that leaning toward the metaverse.

If the smartwatch code-named Milan pushes through, it’ll be possibly released this incoming Spring of 2023 with a price around USD 349.00

Based on Meta executives, they’re still developing other smartwatches which are more in line with the vision of their metaverse and don’t have any issues with any vital features on that specific smartwatch.
