Microsoft brings support for Windows 11 Phone Link to iPhone users

Microsoft has just announced that they will soon bring Windows Phone Link for iOS users on Windows 11 by first releasing an early preview.

Phone Link 2

Insiders who get to experience the preview will see an option to select iPhone on the Phone Link homepage and be directed to the setup process. Insiders will then need to give permissions on their iPhone and its Bluetooth settings to allow notifications and contacts to show.

Features of the new preview of iOS support on Phone Link will see Insiders being able to receive messages via iMessage, make and receive calls, and view their iPhone’s notifications from their Windows laptop or PC.

The iOS Phone Link support is the latest in Microsoft’s part of its ongoing efforts to bring Windows and Apple devices closer together. This comes after the recent integration of iCloud photos in the Photos app on Windows 11 last November.

Windows says that the preview will begin rolling out to Insiders who have opted in their device into one of the 3 Insider Channels via Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program.

They also said that its availability will be increased over time and to would require Phone Link to run version 1.23012.189.0 or higher.
