A month after the release of the Surface RT tablet, Microsoft has finally released information about the pricing and availability of the highly anticipated Surface Pro.
On the outside, the Surface Pro almost has the same look as the RT version so you still get the same VaporMg casing and its overly hyped kickstand. The inside, however, is totally different. The Surface Pro has a higher display resolution, an Intel processor to run regular desktop applications and a bigger RAM. Because of that, the Pro is thicker and heavier than the RT. Take a look at the comparison table below:
Now for the price, the Surface Pro has a price tag of $899 for the 64GB version and $999 for the 128GB and both will ship with a Surface pen. The Touch Cover and Type Cover are optional extras. The Surface Pro will be available in the US starting January of next year.

“its overly hyped kickstand”
The problem with MS is that they are overtly proud of this particular feature since they had it tested for consistency (thus the snapping sound ad) and usability without sacrificing much aesthetics (they wanted to do away with it because it would have ruined the overall feel of the VaporMG casing). In Apple’s world, it is what you would call attention to minute details worthy of praising the well-thought engineering that has been put into the device.

They definitely need to make an AMD Fusion tablet, it would really take off in portable PC gaming :D

Better the pro have discrete graphic option, and maybe an i7 with 256ssd.
SpiderWak says:
No need. Microsoft is not expecting you to do gaming and designing on such a small screen size.
JB says:
And what, get only an hour of battery life and raise the price by hundreds of dollars? An Ivy Bridge i5 is already plenty fast for the tasks that people are likely to use a Surface Pro for. If you want more power, go get a full laptop.
