Both Disney and Yahoo have just announced massive layoffs that come amid a larger string of job cuts happening in the tech and media industry as a whole.
As reported by CBS News, Disney is cutting over 7,000 jobs as returning CEO Bob Iger wishes to make a “significant transformation” within the media powerhouse.
On the other hand, Yahoo is also letting go of around 1,700 employees , or around 20% of its current workforce. Reports say that the layoffs within Yahoo were mainly with their business ad tech unit that allegedly underperformed in terms of profit.
The layoffs are just the latest of a slew of job cuts being made in the tech world, with Microsoft, Google, and Meta all announcing layoffs in the past few weeks.
