ZTE’s MWC 2024 showcase wasn’t all about its folding phone and its new Focus 5G Series. The company also seemed to dip its toes into the budget segment with the nubia Music, a phone that screams “party mode” from the rear panel.
While the premise of a music-focused phone isn’t exactly groundbreaking, the nubia Music takes a familiar formula and throws in some fun twists. Up front, it looks like a regular smartphone: a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a hole-punch cutout and a respectable 90Hz refresh rate. But flip it over, and things get interesting.
A big speaker grill dominates the back panel with a funky color option and dotted texture finish. The said speaker comes with flashy lighting effects and DTS:X Ultra tuning. And next to it is a dual camera setup.
ZTE claims the nubia Music can pump out audio at a volume 600% higher than your average phone, though specific decibel ratings remain a mystery.
The party doesn’t stop there, as the phone boasts two(!) 3.5mm headphone jacks, letting you and a friend share music over wired earphones or headphones.
Under the hood, things are decidedly less flashy. The nubia Music packs the entry-level UNISOC SC9863A chip, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery. While ZTE has yet to disclose its full spec sheet, the budget-oriented chip suggests a price tag firmly planted in the sub- USD 150 range (~PHP 8K).
