National broadband program approved — Piñol

The much-awaited and needed national broadband program by the government has been approved by the President according to Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol.

Through a Facebook post, Piñol announced the news during the  13th Cabinet meeting in Malacañang today. President Duterte gave his approval after Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Rodolfo Salalima made his presentation.

DICT submitted options to the Office of the President back in 2016 to implement a national broadband program. The broadband plan consists of setting up a nationwide infrastructure by the government which will service hard-to-reach areas.

Now that this gets a green signal, we’re waiting for DICT to present the full details. If things go well, this will greatly benefit the nation with a faster and affordable internet connection.

i hope the national broadband project of the government will also be along the national highways in phase 1, then to the hinterland barangays in phase 2.
malapit kasi kami sa highway at saka ang bahay namin daanan papuntang bukid. ;)
