New emojis for smartphones are already in the works and is being decided by a consortium that will be available in 2018.
Behind the development of the emoji is a consortium called the “Unicode Consortium”. Its members are the big companies in which you are very familiar with, namely: Apple, Google, Facebook, Adobe, and much more. Inside that consortium is a committee called the “Emoji Subcommittee” which oversees the production and releases of the widely used emojis that we have now.
They are responsible for the widely used “Poo” emoji and any other emojis out there that became famous.
Here are the 67 emojis that have been considered so far.
Note that the emojis listed that are subject to change and some could be removed by the end of the year. The emojis that are included are not finalized as well since the companies will have their own art to fit the emojis in their own platforms.
