Nothing OS 3.0 has just been announced via YouTube, along with the Nothing Ear (open). Among its highlights are new features, a design overhaul, improved customization options, and the Nothing Gallery app.
Kicking things off, the operating system now has a new font. Users will find it will take the place of Nothing’s N-dot font. Another part of the redesign affects the Settings and Quick Settings interfaces.
Under Quick Settings, you can now adjust block sizes to your liking. There’s also more flexibility in customizing the lock screen with new clock faces.
Plus, this latest version has updates to the app drawer as well. There’s now a new pin-to-top feature along with an AI-powered smart drawer.
The latter is used for sorting apps when and if users are particular about it. The company even has a new Nothing Gallery app for photos.
The app features your key moments, powered by AI to distinguish moments and memories. It separates photos and videos in a manner that’s designed to be easier to navigate.
Additionally, Nothing noted that they’re adding Super Resolution and Image Generation to their suite of AI-powered features. Super Resolution works to improve photo quality when zoomed in.
Meanwhile, Image Generation can be leveraged for customized portraits like turning users into astronauts and the like.
Wrapping up, widgets are set to get a share and react function. There’s also going to be a new countdown widget arriving soon, slated to take note of incoming events. Prime examples for this are anniversaries, birthdays, etc.
As per the company, the open beta for Nothing OS 3.0 begins in October. As for the general rollout, it’s been set for December. We’ll be sure to update readers once the date is near.
