Carl Pei’s hardware startup, ‘Nothing’ scheduled an event titled “The Truth” for March 23, 10PM (Philippine time) staging their product roadmap for 2022.
“We landed investments. Partnered with the best suppliers. Built a 300 people-strong team. Launched our first product which sold over 400,000 units,” the event landing page stated where a Qualcomm Snapdragon branding is tucked visibly.
It has been known that last year, 2021, the London-based brand Nothing and Qualcomm had announced ‘strategic partnership.’ Which meant that Nothing products will make use of the Snapdragon chips and audio platforms for its ecosystem.
In the recent MWC 2022, Carl Pei was seen showing off a Nothing smartphone prototype to Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon. Although so far, no real leaks about the Nothing smartphone has surfaced.
Nothing’s first product was the “ear (1)”—a True Wireless Earbuds (TWS)—released in August 2021 only available in select countries.
Pei was a co-founder of OnePlus since 2013. He was considered the ‘face’ of OnePlus. However, Pei left in October of 2020 to start his new hardware venture.
