Now Corp. has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with South Korea’s SK Telecom to build 5G businesses in the Philippines.
Head of SK Telecom Infra Business Shim Sangsoo, Now Corp. Chairman Dr. Thomas Aquino, and NOW Telecom Chairman Mel V. Velarde signed the partnership agreement in Manila. The MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) allows both companies to collaborate in their goal of establishing a “5G stand-alone network, provide in-building solutions and introduce 5G B2B services and 5G-enabled enterprise applications in the Philippines.” SK Telecom and NOW expect to draw up a Phased 5G Commercialization Plan as part of the agreement.
SK Telecom is also expected to help NOW telecom in the execution of 5G related programs for the next five to ten years as the Philippines standardizes 5G networks and its applications.
