ZTE has debuted the nubia Z50S Pro packing some serious camera hardware along with powerful internals.
The phone has triple rear cameras, including a 35mm lens with a 50-megapixel 1/1.49-inch sensor and a fairly large f/1.59 aperture, which supports optical image stabilization.
Other lenses consist of another 50-megapixel ultrawide/macro with a 13mm focal length (f/2.0, 125-degree FoV). And an 80mm 16-megapixel telephoto with OIS support as well.
Its color variants come in faux leather, two-tone finish of either in black or brown. There’s also a white colorway available, which makes the camera module stand out more prominently.
Going over its display, it sports a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display (452ppi, 20:9).
Although the nubia Z50S Pro is not primarily a gaming phone like its Red Magic counterparts, its display runs at 120Hz and has 1,000Hz touch sampling. When tracking multiple fingers, the touch sampling rate reduces to 720Hz.
Underneath this device is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen2 chipset with boosted 3.36GHz clockspeed. Configurations can be maxed out to 16GB+1TB. For thermals, it has a big 4,233mm² vapor chamber.
Software-wise, it runs on Android 13-based MyOS 13 skin.
The nubia Z50S Pro boasts a 5,100mAh battery that supports lightning-fast 80W charging. With moderate use, the battery can last for over 37 hours. And if power-saving mode is enabled, a mere 5% charge can sustain 6 hours of standby.
Price and availability
The nubia Z50S is currently launched for China, starting at CNY 3,699 for the 12GB+256GB combo. While the maxed-out variant (16GB+1TB) is priced at CNY 4,399. The white colorway is priced CNY 4,499.
