The Samsung Galaxy S20 series gets the One UI 2.5 update, bringing in some key features from the Note 20 series including 8K video recording, new functions in the Samsung Notes, and wireless Samsung DeX.
Camera features
Under the Pro Video mode, Galaxy S20 series owners may now enjoy 8K video recording up to 24 fps, an option to shoot up to 21:9 aspect ratio, as well as control the smartphone’s mic direction while recording. They may also use any Galaxy Buds as a lapel mic to minimize background noise and record clearer audio.
Samsung Notes
The One UI 2.5 update adds audio bookmark for synchronizing notes with audio recordings, importing and writing on PDF files, autosave & sync function for accessing notes across Samsung devices, and turning handwritten texts to typed documents. It also offers more customizable features in the Samsung Notes, adding new template and background color options.
Samsung DeX
The Samsung Galaxy S20 series can now be linked with Samsung Smart TVs 2019 and up wirelessly through Samsung DeX, as well as served as a touchpad for controlling the second display with multi-finger gestures.
Connectivity and productivity
Through the latest update, users may now see the internet speed and share the password of the Wi-Fi they are connected to with other nearby Galaxy devices in their contact list. The updated Reminder app also allows them to preset time and location for any upcoming meetings and tasks.
The One UI 2.5 has been rolling out on the Samsung S20 series last August 21.
