Don’t you hate it when your smartphone heats up while playing games? Even if you have the latest and most powerful smartphone, you’ll still feel the processor and battery heat up after a long gaming session. Aside from making the phone warm to the touch, your phone’s performance will eventually slow down too.
But it seems OnePlus has a clever solution to the heating issue. At the Mobile World Congress, OnePlus revealed a 45W liquid cooling system that can be attached to the back of smartphones. Yes, you read that right – a liquid cooling accessory for smartphones.
Cooling accessories for smartphones are nothing new. There are other companies that offer cooling accessories for smartphones like Razer and Asus. However, these are usually fan-based coolers. As a result, they’re relatively easy to clip onto phones and very portable too. Meanwhile, the OnePlus liquid cooler isn’t exactly the most phone practical cooler. That’s because aside from the accessory that clips onto your phone, there’s also a big box and a tube running between them. Think of it as something similar to an AIO on your PC.
OnePlus has not released specific details about the cooler but said it will lower phone temperatures by around 20 degrees Celsius. That said, there’s no price yet for the OnePlus 45W Liquid Cooler. One Plus did not mention when it will be available, and whether the accessory will work with phones aside from those under the OnePlus brand. And from the display, there will be two variants – a clip type and a magnet type.
It might not be the most portable and practical phone cooling solution, but the OnePlus 45W Liquid Cooler is an interesting accessory. However, the question remains – “Will people actually buy it once it hits stores around the world?” I assume this accessory would cater more to gamers rather than casual phone users. Nonetheless, we think it’s perfect for long gaming sessions.
Do you want OnePlus Philippines to offer the 45W Liquid Cooler here in the future? Assuming they do, how much should they price it? Let us know your thoughts below.
