The Department of Justice has announced that applicants for the NBI Clearance can now apply and fill out the complete form online starting on Friday.
According to the DOJ’s press release, NBI Clearance applicants can apply and fill out the complete form at www.doj.gov.ph/nbi or www.nbi.gov.ph beginning on January 24, 2014. After the online registration, applicants may proceed directly to any of the 55 sites nationwide for payment and biometric enrollment for the release of the clearance.
“With the implementation of the new NBI system, we shall continue to roll-out and implement solutions to progressively eliminate queues and simplify processes,” said Secretary of Justice Leila M. de Lima. “online application is the logical next step after the switch.”

such a useless system. For those who are planning to get their NBI clearance here in Cebu,, if you use the online application form..please do not use comma and use only one ID number…why?

my experience here in cebu is tne same as the last. you will still need to be scheduled for the paymnt and biometrics. plus they force people to register online most of these people will have to pay for the internet and for printing the stupid form. online registration overall its not a good experience.

In General Santos City, processing of NBI clearance is now 1 month! Before, it was just 3 hours! And they do not care whether you applied online or on-site; it doesn’t matter to them at all; you all have to wait for 1 month to pay for the clearance and subsequently get it!
he National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has recently launched a website where applicants can apply for their clearances both for new applicants and renewals.
One simply has to head over to the NBI Application Form’s website and fill up the respective fields. The website then provides the user with a Registration Code and a QR code. The user has the option of also printing out the application form with the encoded data. I was pretty impressed at this point.
The second part of the process is to head to the NBI Clearance Center. In this case I headed to the NBI in Robinsons Metro east. Upon arriving at the NBI Regional Office and witnessing the infamous long lines and chaos, I was dismayed to find out that Online Applicants were scheduled to appear on a particular day for their clearances by filling up a paper with their respective name and registration code. Haven’t we graduated from this already? Aren’t we supposing to be heading towards a paperless system?
Furthermore, the individual who was manning the Online Applicant Schedule forms mentioned that we, online applicants, would still need to line up with the rest of those who didn’t fill up the online forms. What’s the use of having an online application system, then? At this point, I was disgusted and frustrated at how pathetic and ineffective the system is. I walked out.
Let’s get rational here. The NBI was given a budget to implement an effective online application system in order to reduce the usual disorganization and mayhem caused at the NBI Clearance Centers when acquiring the blessed NBI Clearance Forms.
Here’s how the current system could be improved upon:
Firstly, a separate line for those who filled up the Online Application Forms should be established. It’s pointless in lining up with the rest.
Secondly, the NBI should accept payments online may it be via Credit Card Payments, Bank Transfer or the usual over the counter transactions at the NBI Clearance Centers. Come on, we’re living in the 21st century already!
Thirdly, an express lane for Online Applicants who have completed the form and paid online can be formed in which their thumb marks and picture can be taken. Once that has been accomplished, the clearance can then be printed out or mailed to a respective address.

Last year nung kumuha ako ng NBI clearance (first time), online na ko nagfill up ng details, then payment through G-cash. Biometrics and picture taking na lang ung sa satellite office nila which took me 5 minutes lang kahit na hapon ako pumunta. Natigil ba ung sistemang un earlier this year kaya may memo na ganito?

Tamang hinala ka lng sir. All proceeds from the NBI clearance goes straight to the National Treasury. Kaya ganyan po ang sistema kasi limited budget and personnel.
Tama naman na DOJ na ang humawak sa clearance kasi ang dapat na gawin nila ay tumutok sa investigation hindi sa mga clearance na yan.

Hndi nila magawa un kasi madaming branches kung saan pwde kumuha ng NBI Clearance unlike sa Passport na sa DFA mo lng tlga makukuha. If we can apply online and NBI can send it to our address then that would be better.
