Ookla outs Speedtest Global Index for January 2018

Ookla has released their Speedtest Global Index for January 2018, comparing the internet speed data from around the world, including the Philippines.

According to the index, the Philippines has an average speed of 12.55 Mbps download (13.43 Mbps, December 2017) and 5.86 Mbps upload for Mobile. While Fixed Broadband has an average speed of 15.67 Mbps download (15.19 Mbps, December 2017) and 13.53 Mbps upload.

According to this new data, the Philippines now has an improved Global Rank of 87 for Fixed Broadband. Although in the mobile scene we dropped down from 90 in December to 94 this month.

Global Average speed for Mobile is 22.23 Mbps download and 8.94 Mbps upload, while global average for Fixed Broadband is 41.88 Mbps download and 20.36 Mbps download. With this numbers, we are still way below the global average for both Mobile and Fixed Broadband.
